Cobra Has Its Baroness in Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller to play the Baroness

G.I. Joe, a movie no-doubt greenlit due to the success of its 1980s cartoon bunkmate Transformers as a new live-action blockbuster, has now got its most important character - the supreme evil hottie known as The Baroness. Variety reports that Sienna Miller has joined the cast of the Stephen Sommers-directed military action flick as the sexy, bespectacled, aristocratic mercenary who works regularly with Cobra, the ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.

British actress will play the film's female lead, described as a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage.

Female lead? Not exactly - she's one of the main villains, but it sounds like she'll have a big part, though, which is good and mandatory. It remains to be seen how they'll update the dynamics of the story from the Cold War era in which they were established, now that terrorism is a much more prominent threat.

Story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer.
