This image may not be the loveliest still, but Martin Landau is going to be starring in Lovely Still, with Ellen Burstyn, Elizabeth Banks and Adam Scott, for first-time director Nik Fackler, according to THR.
The script, written by Fackler, is a holiday fable that tells the story of an elderly grocery store bagger (Landau) who discovers love for the first time. Burstyn is the woman he falls for, while Banks plays her daughter. Scott is the store owner.
Fackler began making short films and music videos for Omaha's burgeoning music scene after graduating high school. He wrote the "Lovely" script with Landau in mind. After securing a meeting with Landau, Fackler spent hours convincing the Oscar winner that he had the goods to helm a feature. Landau committed and showed the script to Burstyn, who also wanted to meet Fackler. The pieces fell into place quickly after that.
