I know this is old news, but this People interview with Brad Pitt is still sticking in my craw. Look at this.
As for his future in films, the 43-year-old who is promoting his film The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, told the BBC, "I figure I've got very few films left. Who knows how many I'll get to do now, so I want to do something I'm interested in. Otherwise, I don't want to bother. I think it's a younger person's game."
Pitt, who recently dropped out of the film State of Play, also said he wasn't interested in making any more Ocean's movies. "There's no more," he said of the series of caper flicks he's made with pals George Clooney and Matt Damon. "I think we need to put away childish things."
He did offer some hope for working with Clooney and Damon again, though: "We'll find something else. I just don't think there's anywhere to go with that particular story," he said.
While I'll agree that there's really nowhere to go with another Ocean film, has he learned nothing from co-star Carl Reiner's longevity?
Brad Pitt is 44 years old next week, and he's talking like he's going to win the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Oscars this year. You're going to get to make plenty of movies, Bradley, unless you have a brain tumor or something you haven't told anyone about. If you do, well, tip of the hat to a life well lived, and you certainly should NOT have to put away childish things. Hell, you should be doing nothing but childish things if you're about to get your ticket punched. Practice juggling, dress up like Batman, unicycle across Wyoming, get Angelina Jolie on all fours and swat her boobs back and forth like Newton's cradle (you know Billy Bob did it)! Whatever's fun, do it! You can build houses for the needy and have joie de vivre at the same time. In fact, having joie de vivre should make you want to build more houses for the needy, to spread that joy around.
Comedy is not childish. It is necessary.

I hope Brad Pitt does not stop making movies. But, I can certainly understand why he feels weary of it all. I'm pretty fed up with my career too, and I want to do something different.
That does not mean Brad is a "fuddy duddy". I can also see why he might feel that movies are "childish things" because the industry can be childish and sick at times. But, everyone STILL needs entertainment and escape. Maybe all Brad needs is a fresh approach. Don't give up Brad!! You are still young and handsome and everyone still loves you.
I think it's good that Brad has "outgrown" some aspects of "the business" but there is still room for an experienced talent and a mature, fresh approach.
