We told you about Clint Eastwood's Gran Turino, a secret project he's directing and starring in due out this December.

Now comes a rumor that the secret to this project just might be that it's the sixth installment in his vaunted Dirty Harry franchise, following the career of hard-assed San Francisco cop Harry Callahan as he pointed giant guns at people and asked if they felt lucky.

For the record, the prior films were Dirty Harry, Magnum Force, The Enforcer, Sudden Impact (the "Go ahead, make my day" one) and The Dead Pool. This would certainly be a big draw, and it would also fit Eastwood's M.O., judging by his Oscar-winning revisit to his western persona in Unforgiven. It could easily be a great new take on the old standard, the aging hard-ass, and the potential is there for something truly great, given his talent.

Hot damn, this could be fantastic.
