Rumor has it that Matthew McConaughey has been offered the role of Thomas Magnum, the ex-military-turned-detective in Hawaii made famous by Tom Selleck during the great run of Magnum P.I. That could work well, considering Matty Mac's laid-back, charismatic nature, but this will only work provided McConaughey doesn't try to pull off The Stache. The Stache belongs to Selleck. And the 80s, but mostly Selleck.

He just might be the one to fill the shoes.

That's a great choice. It will certainly make me happy. Both of them are eye candy.

Should not be done. Magnum is Magnum and anyone who tries to pull it off with anyone but Selleck is doomed to die a thousand box office deaths....(does noone remember the HORRIFIC car crash that was miami vice)
Please...for the love of Higgins...don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't think MMc can pull it off like Selleck, but if his backup ride is an Audi S8, it'll help...

I probably say Mc may be a good choice but why not Sel, he still in good shape and that's what people would like to see. He knows the role better than anyone, on the other hand let's no disgrace the new show doing the stupid things that doomed the new Duke's and Miami Vice I hope they keep it new but as original as it was.

I am now an old lady like Tom is an old man,but in 1984 I was in Ha. and met him in a local bar and it was a most memorable time for me. He was most kind and affable and I will never forget it and I really dont know if Matty can live up to that large image.
But I most deffinately would see the movie Irene

Wa Matthew McConnaghy even born during the Vietnam War? Sellecks character was very good to Vietnam Veterans while it was on and he was believable. I find it hard to believe Matty Mc can pull it off.

It will work if the movie is made better then some off these other remakes. McConnaghy is talented and fun to watch but if the writing is bad it will suck the other remakes.

It's Selleck or no one. Best to leave perfection alone...

I dunno. McConaughey might not be ________________ [fill in the blank] enough to pull it off. Like my hat? Funny hat.
