Right now, big-time director Steven Soderbergh, with such films as Ocean's 11, Erin Brockovich and Traffic under his belt, is working on his Che Guevara biopics Guerrilla and The Argentine while gearing up for The Informant with Matt Damon. After that, though, he's due to revisit his sex, lies and videotape days to give us all The Girlfriend Experience.
Normally, that term would refer to what high-end call girls provide for their wealthy clients - not just sex, but acting the part of a perfect girlfriend to boot. In this case, though, it refers to Soderbergh directing a low-budget movie about one of these $1 million-a-year call girls, to be written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Upping the ante a bit is the idea that the film will forgo star power and actually cast a porn star in the lead role, which will lead to the achievement of the American Dream for the filmmakers - being able to write porn purchases off on their taxes. Of course, any speculation on which porn star might be good for this role would likely reveal more about the speculator than one might like, so feel free to make suggestions, if you dare.
