FBI Agent Johnny Utah (Keanu Reeves) goes undercover in a gang of surfers, led by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze), suspected of robbing banks while wearing creepy Nixon, Reagan, Carter and LBJ masks and calling themselves the Ex-Presidents. But as Johnny Utah is mentored by a cute surfer named Tyler (Lori Petty) and forms a bond with Bodhi and his gang of 100% Pure Adrenaline junkies, Johnny Utah gets seduced by the lifestyle and is torn between life on the waves rebelling against society, and his duty to the government and his partner Pappas (Gary Busey).
Also featuring Anthony Kiedis as a gang member who shoots his own foot off, Scrubs' John C. McGinley as Johnny Utah's ranting superior and Tom Sizemore with green hair, Point Break put Reeves on the map as an action star, and under the direction of Kathryn Bigelow, it stands as proof that the action movie genre need not be a boys club.
