David O. Russell's film Nailed, based on a novel by Kristin Gore (Al's daughter and former Futurama writer) about a woman (Jessica Biel) with a bizarre head injury that results in more bizarre sexual behavior and eventual involvement in government, has hit a few speed bumps, including James Caan's departure and the revival of Russell's reputation as a massive pain to work for. Now, something entirely different has come up - SAG has ordered the shutdown of the production.
The story is that the indie film has "insufficient funds on deposit with the guild," and these issues may result in South Carolina yanking their financial incentives to film there. The film also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tracy Morgan, Catherine Keener, James Marsden and James Brolin, who stepped in for Caan, and they're all now sidelined until the film's finances are hashed out.
