At long last, Fraggle Rock is being made into a movie.
The show that helped define millions of childhoods will be brought to the screen by the Weinsteins, and it will be directed by Cory Edwards, who gave us the clever riff on fairy tales Hoodwinked [watch the trailer], and it'll be the same live-action mixed with Muppets blend that the beloved series was. Apparently Gobo, Wembley, Mookey, Berber and Red will journey outside their home only to be mistaken for aliens by the humans they encounter.
This, combined with the new Muppet movie being written by Jason Segel of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, may well signify a Muppet Renaissance.
