In new comic-book movie news, the cheescake sorcery series Witchblade, which soared to popularity based mainly on the ridiculously revealing costume that Detective Sara Pezzini found herself garbed in when she discovered her inheritance of the magical Witchblade power as well as the fact that inexplicably-celebrated artist Michael Turner likes to draw anorexic women who all have the same exact face and the same exact bowling ball implants, will be coming to the big screen.
No details yet on casting, writers or directors, but it'll likely be a departure from the TNT television adaptation, which starred Yancy Butler and lasted only two seasons, mostly because that series did not focus on scantily clad women, and the comic book that sells so much is almost exclusively focused on that. In fact, it rarely has a cover image that doesn't feature copious amounts of fictional flesh.

Point of fact: Despite what that Variety blurb says, comic legend Will Eisner has nothing to do with the creation of Wanted. It's Frank Miller's The Spirit [watch the trailer] that he created.
