Watch the trailer for Bill Maher's documentary Religiulous.
Bill Maher, the host of Real Time on HBO, has long been outspoken about the fact that he finds the whole concept of religion to be a rather ridiculous notion, with the invisible man in the clouds and all that. Recently, he's pointed out that if the Catholic Church was a day care franchise with their record of sexual abuse, the Pope would be in prison. So chances are Religulous isn't going to be the most objective of documentaries.
That said, it doesn't necessarily have to be. Michael Moore has built a career on agenda-mentaries, and the central premise of this film isn't one that you hear in the mainstream all that often. Maher's strategy is likely just to get this message out there and hope it stirs up a great deal of controversy with radicals like the Catholic League's Bill Donahue or Louis Farrakhan condemning it, and thus spiking up the box office.
Take a look for yourself at Religulous and see where you stand.
