A surreal amalgamation of William Burroughs' autobiography and the novel of the same name, Cronenberg tells the story of Bill Lee (Peter Weller), an aspiring writer working as an exterminator. His wife Joan (Judy Davis) leads him down a road of unusual hallucinogenic drugs, and Bill eventually finds himself talking to giant beetles about conspiracies and fleeing to a Mediterranean city called Interzone that features talking insectoid typewriters... yes, it's the kind of film you just have to see.
