Watch the trailer for the acclaimed Sundance hit The Wackness, opening in limited release today.
1994 is now a setting for a period piece. Particularly, the height of the Giuliani reforms in New York City.
The legendary Ben Kingsley is Dr. Jeffrey Squires, a psychiatrist who begins paying for his marijuana with clinical treatment for his dealer, a depressed kid named Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) and finds a kindred lost soul in the young man. When Luke starts dating his step-daughter Stephanie (Juno star Olivia Thirlby), things get a little wack. To the point where Ben Kingsley makes out with Mary-Kate Olsen. That's just wacky.
