Robert Redford Never Saw "The Sting"

Paul Newman and Robert Redford in The Sting

This is a fairly amusing tidbit. Amidst a ceremony where he was given an honoroary degree from Trinity College, Robert Redford spoke about how the Democratic Party is done for if they can't elect Barack Obama the next president. But he also revealed that he's "not comfortable" with watching his own movies, and furthermore, he never watched his own Oscar-nominated performance alongside Paul Newman in The Sting until he sat down to watch it with his grandson.

"When he told me he hadn't seen The Sting , I said: what's wrong with your mother? And then it came out that I hadn't seen it either. So we watched it. I thought it was great."

It is great, Bob. It won Best Picture 1973.
