In the recent tradition of reworking 80s movies - such as Sylvester Stallone's trips back to Rocky and Rambo, along with the remake of Red Dawn in the works, etc. - it seems only logical that someone would float a rumor about making a sequel to Top Gun in which Tom Cruise's hotshot pilot Maverick would have grown into a flight instructor, who would have to deal with the female version of himself in 1986. Figuratively, not literally - we don't need Cruise making out with himself in drag. It sounds like a mildly generic plot treatment so far, and chances are Cruise won't bother with it, but stranger things happen all the time.
2 Top 2 Gun? Top Gun 2 The Streets? Top Gun Salvation: The Future Begins? Or better yet, Top Gun Episode II: Revenge of the Goose.
