The cult favorite 80s comedy Valley Girl, starring Nicolas Cage as a Hollywood bad boy who woos a popular girl from the San Fernando Valley school of airheaded "gag me with a spoon" bimbos, is now being rejiggered as a musical. This is somehow unsurprising. For a story so firmly set in 1983, it seems like a natural for MGM to try and blow it out into a huge camp fest. The original soundtack included "I Melt With You" by Modern English, "Love My Way" by the Psychadelic Furs and "Who Can It Be Now?" by Men At Work, all of which they'll likely lend to a new version.
