Video: "Babylon A.D." and the "Requiem For a Dream" Music

Vin Diesel in Babylon A.D.

Vin Diesel is back, and he's still growling in a monotone. Michelle Yeoh is also back and she's kicking tuchus this August, with The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor releasing August 1 and Babylon A.D. on August 29.

The latter is the sci-fi epic for which you can now watch the trailer on Fancast. Diesel is a mercenary named Thoorop who has lived a self-serving life of 'kill or be killed.' That is, until he's charged with safeguarding a woman (Melanie Thierry) who may or may not be the bearer of the next Messiah. Yeoh stars as a nun who knows how to kick.

From Mathieu Kossovitz, the director of Gothika, has crafted another gloomy tale wich also stars Charlotte Rampling, Gerard Depardieu and Vincent Cassel. The marketing wizards have decided to take a page out of the Lord of the Rings playbook and actually include the epic music from the climax of Requiem For A Dream to use to pump up the importance of the proceedings. But if you watch that whole movie through to the end, you'll never be able to hear that piece of music again without thinking of the catastrophic descent into the four lead characters destroyed by drugs.
