Quentin Tarantino is making Inglorious Bastards, an "in your face" World War II film that is likely going to bring us back to badass war movies instead of concentrating on the horrors and atrocities of the concept. He's been talking to Brad Pitt about playing the lead Aldo Raine, and now there's word that Eli Roth, Hostel director and Grindhouse veteran, may be on tap to play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz, a member of Raine's rogue band of Jewish-American soldiers who get down and dirty to mess up the Nazis in occupied France. The rest of the cast may be finalized pretty soon, but the rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio might be involved are apparently not true, as the role he would've been asked to play has been earmarked for a German actor. I think we can all be glad we don't have to hear Leo try another accent.
