Idris Elba of "RocknRolla" Wants A Michael Jordan Biopic

Michael Jordan

Idris Elba, star of The Wire and Guy Ritchie's upcoming RocknRolla, has said that he wants to put together a biographical film about Michael Jordan, who many people consider to be the greatest basketball player in the history of the game. Yet that's not what he wants the film to focus on.

"Michael is a very private guy, but we're working at it slowly. The film that I'm trying to make isn't about the actual basketball, it's about the business. Michael Jordan is such a big international brand - how do you make that happen? How do you make that happen as a sports star? The brand has done so well for years."

So it'd be more about the Jordan conglomerate than Jordan the athlete. Perhaps that's for the best - Jordan probably doesn't want a movie made about his stint trying to play baseball for the Chicago White Sox.
