Paul Newman left an enormous legacy of films. As the New York Times wrote, "He acted in more than 65 movies over more than 50 years, drawing on a physical grace, unassuming intelligence and good humor that made it all seem effortless. Yet he was also an ambitious, intellectual actor and a passionate student of his craft, and he achieved what most of his peers find impossible: remaining a major star into craggy, charismatic old age." Watch clips from some of his best-known and favorite movies.

Fort Apache, The Bronx Paul Newman stars as an essentially decent cop patrolling that decimated, drug-and-gang-ridden borough known on the city maps as the Bronx, but known to its denizens as "Fort Apache".
Slap Shot A minor-league hockey team makes sports history when its members decide to spruce up the team's image by playing dirty.
Buffalo Bill and the Indians or Sitting Bull's History Lesson Buffalo Bill Cody (Paul Newman) tries to be the Wild West legend his promoter (Burt Lancaster) creates for show business.

I had a good time watching some of these clips; it was funny when I saw a particular snippet of The Sting and could remember what line Newman was about to say in answer to the one Redford had said before the clip started: "He's not as tough as he thinks he is." To which Newman answered with comic timing and dryness a lot of actors would envy, "Neither are we."
I'd forgotten Hudsucker Proxy, which I liked better than a lot of people, I think.
What a talent.
